We have AC-transformer 110/13.8kv,40MVA.If DC-Voltage=110kv
is applied in its primary what will happen?
Answer Posted / prabhakar
since the primary winding is of thin guage with large no.
of turns as compared to its secondary winding i.e.,the
resistance of the primary winding will be more and so that
no more short circuit happens with the winding and
eventually no more secondary voltage appears at the
secondary.(as per the basic of transformer principle)
