automatic voltage regulator is the device which regulate
the voltage in two terms i.e transformer and in generators.
in transformer it is used for tap changing purpose. by tao
changing it increases or decreases the voltage.in
alternators it is used for excitation purpose.if there is
fall in the terminal voltage then excitation sensed and
increase the voltage.
