when a part of primary winding of a transformer is short
cktd the v1 reduced,so the v2 will also be reduced by the
same factor.this will be cleared by the relation-
v1/v2=n1/n2
since n1 and n2 are remain same,v2 should be reduced
inorder to maintain the ratio same.

For refrigerators the motor current is raised beyond its rating on both conditions when the voltage of the system is more(say 270v) than the rated voltage(220v) as well as when the voltage of system is less(say 160v) than normal voltageof 220v, why explain?

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
