For what purpose an AVR in generator sensing generator
output voltage?and how the sensing is done by AVR?
Answer Posted / dipak062078
AVR is used in the excitation system of the generator. It
senses the voltage changes accross the generator
terminals.Sensing is done PT connected in terminal.According
to the voltage change it increases or decreases the
excitation of the main exciter field and the main exciter
controls the generator field excitation to control the
terminal voltage.
