what is starting current and use of starting current?
Answer Posted / kamlesh g patel
starting current of motor is same as inrush current of
transformer.
starting current of motor is about 5-6 times its rated
current & this is due to non availability of back emf
during starting.
motor torque is proportional to the current means high
starting current produces high strting torque which helps
in starting the machine from stndstill condition.
