what is the different between Switch & Circuit Breaker?
Answer Posted / mashani
a. Circuit Breaker(CB):may operated when load is still
conneted
switch:may operated when load is allready openned
thats why the position of Disconnected switch is before CB
b. Circuit Breaker ussualy opearted with automation
(PLC/Microntroller whichinside of circuit breaker is relay-
relay protection such as over current protection, over
voltage protection, ground fault,etc)
Switc usualy operated manually
c. Circuit breaker:could reduction of surge wich caused by
switching with material inside CB(such as SF6 for HV,
Vacuum for MV, Air for LV)thats why CB may operated when
load is still conneted
Swith:doesn't have any material to reduction the surge,
thats why it's may not operated if there is still load
connected
but switch an CB is have same purpose to connected an
disconnected between load and source....
please correct my answer...thx
