Explain handled go live activities-Dry run,Cut over
activities & post go live Support

Dear All,

The sequence of the activities given is as follows,

Dry Run
Cut Over
Go Live
Post Go live Support.

In Dry Run the business activities that are configured in
system are given to user, for testing and evaluation,
training etc. In this case the existing system runs
parallel to the new system, so as that no business are
hampered, as well as accurate results are achieved.

In Cut Over, a call is taken from both the point of view,
i.e. system and business, that old system is to be cut off
and new system will take over the activities. However few
business tend to run both the system parallel till a
confidence level is build, and end results are same as both
the systems are concerned. But in Cut over, user does not
expect too much from the old system.

In Go Live, the old system is stopped, stock are taken into
the system, accounts values are books of accounts are same
as old system, from where the new system will take over
from the old system, old system may refer to legacy data
for references but, so far as the current activities are
concerned, they take place in the new system, the old is
for reference only.

Post Go live Support, this involves support activities
after the Go Live has been successfully done. This may
involve, new developments, reports.

Please correct me, if there is any mistake in the answer
given.
