why synchronization done in clockwise direction?
Answer Posted / amit khamesra
Guys , i think , it basically depends upon the incoming
source. When u r synchronising grid with a running
generator, u need to synchronise in anti clockwise
direction, Grid being a bigger source shall supply power to
small source initially. If u r synchronising generator with
a already runing system, it shall be done in clockwise
direction as clockwise direction shows higher speed of
incoming generator, which in turn shows the load taking
capability of the incoming source.

3 shows a 415 V, 3-phase generator supplying a 3-phase 415/110 V transformer. Draw the individual and combined impedance diagrams to a base of 10 kVA. Determine the system fault kVA and the fault currents at the 415 V and 110 V busbars for short circuit faults on the transformer input or output terminals. Work in p.u. values of impedances.
