what is difference between group BOM and BOM group ?

group BOM is created during R&D stage, whcih does not have
any impact in material allocation agaist order. Also not
considered by MRP.
BOM group is a catogorizatoin of BOM's similar to the
classification of materials. for ex. Variants BOM's
Alternate BOM's.
