Stator of three phase induction motor creates Rotating
Magnetic field.But why not Transformer?
Answer Posted / meetkumar b. patel
in induction motor the placement of winding is so special
and when we give 3 phase voltage with 120 phase difference
in the winding we don't get any rotating magnetic field but
we get 180 direction field for each winding and when we
imagine resultant of this whole three winding we get the
rotating magnetic field
in transformer the placement of winding is not as induction
motor it just have to convert voltages into high or
low............
so both have three phase winding but just the placement and
connection is differ from each other that's y in induction
motor there is a rotating magnetic field and transformer
don't have

i am an maintenance engineer. one distribution board have 5 feeder. recently its ELR trips frequently, but it take some times after trip( 10min,20min..)but 3 feeder no load. two feeder only loaded. i checked one feeder IR value all values are above 50Mohm.but B phase to Earth is only 9Mohm.any problem about low value
