How can it be proved that the strength of the North and
South poles of the magnet is same ?
Answer Posted / sanju
When a magnet is placed in a big cork and floated on water I
a trough , it Comes to rest along a North-South direction.
If the strength of the North and South poles of the magnet
were not the same, the magnet could not come to rest because
the force acting on the North pole due to the earth?s magnet
would be different from the force action on the South pole.
But experiment shows that it comes to rest at some place.
Hence the strength of the two poles. Hence the strength of
the two poles is equal.
