South poles of the magnet is same ?

Gauss' law shows that there is no divergence in the magnetic
field. What this means is that there are no free floating
magnetic charges, thus every north pole is equally balanced
by a south pole. This is an asymmetry in Maxwell's equations
and people have looked for such an imbalance in nature, but
it has never been found. So the technical answer is the
equations can be shown to support equal north and south
poles, and they have not been shown to be incorrect.

When a magnet is placed in a big cork and floated on water I
a trough , it Comes to rest along a North-South direction.
If the strength of the North and South poles of the magnet
were not the same, the magnet could not come to rest because
the force acting on the North pole due to the earth?s magnet
would be different from the force action on the South pole.
But experiment shows that it comes to rest at some place.
Hence the strength of the two poles. Hence the strength of
the two poles is equal.
