I had answered 7 Amps and mentioned the thumb rule for
copper is 2000 Amps per sqaure Inch ( not 2000 Amps per sq
mm ) > You need to read the answer carefully before
commenting . For Your info 1 sq inch = 25.4 x 25.4 = 645 sq
mm. Also copper purity / type of insulation / temperature
rise allowed / voltage drop tolerarable would be other
factors which need to be considered. For this 2000 Amps / Sq
inch has a generous margin ie it is has some safety margin .
