AVR-means automatic voltage regulator
AVR regulates the voltage of a generator. when voltage
drops, due to load increase, AVR gives voltage to exciter
and exciter more xecites the alternator and voltage improve.

why Induction Generators are not "Black start" ? and apart from WTGs where this types of generator are generally used?
