how we can calculate which capacity capacitor bank we have
to add for improve pf?

Answer Posted / abdulsubur

p total connect load in kw =932

cos 1 =power factor before improvement =0.8 assume
cos 2= poer factor after improvement =0.9
kvar 1= ptan1 932*0.75=699.03kvar
kvar 2=ptan2 932*.4843=451.39kvar
req rating of capacitor bank =kvar1-kvar2
=699.03-451.39
=247.64kvar =250kvar

why do motors burn out? I understand why adding parallel loads to a power source means more current moves through the circuit, and can destroy circuit elements by overheating.
