what is the working principle of electrical motors?
Answer Posted / jasmin
two types of motors... AC and DC
basically motor works on the princviple offaradays law of
elecrto magnetic induction..ie;when a current carrying
conductor is placed in a magnetic field theconductoer
experiences a mechanical force(torque)... in dc motor the
field system is the stationary part .when the armature
containing copper bconductors in the slots is placedin the
magnetic field and is connecting to the dc mains, a torque
is experienced in the armature conductors and due to the
combined effect of this torque in each conductors armature
begin to rotate...thus here electrical supply energy is
converted into mechanical rotational energy
