'ADVOCATE' is not an abbreviated word. It has no full form.
However, it certainly has a meaning.
It means a person who publicly supports a particular cause
or a person who pleads a case on somone else's behalf.
Its origin is in the latin word 'advocare' which means -
call to one's aid.
If used as noun it means 'to plead for'.
Legally , it means a person holding a law degree and has
enrolled himself or herself as an advocate with the bar
council.
