Determine if the process is runing #ps -ef |grep -i
<process_name>, then use on of the following:
1.#pkill signal process
2.#kill signal PID note:signal 15 sigterm is the default
and safe, sigkill(9) could leave zombie child processes.
3.#pstop <pid>
4.# /ect/init.d/process stop --> for under init
5.Via SMF or inetadm
