Corrosion occurs where levels of oxygen or carbon dioxide
are high, where ph values are low, where contact occurs
between dissimilar metals and in damp environment.
Erosion is a mechanical wearing away of metal or other
material by impingement of ash particles or a cutting of
the metal.
