IN THERMAL POWER PLANT WHY WE ARE USING SINGLE SHAFT FOR
THE COUPLING OF HP,IP&LOW PRESSURE TURBINES....WE CAN USE
INDIVIDUAL SHAFT FOR EACH TURBINE....?

however 3 turbines are having individual shafts only.
may be in some designs HP & IP are in single shaft and LP
only in another shaft for 110 MW BHEL design.
For any 500MW, All 3 turbines are coupled with individual
shafts only.
this concept is bases on Torque and Steam pressure.
