Question { 20449 }

In this four digit number, the second digit is half the
third digit which is three less than the first which is six
more than the fourth. If no digit is repeated, what is the
number

Answer

Answer: 7241
Explanation:
If the number is abcd,
then as per puzzle,
b=c/2, c=a-3, a=6+d,
so 'd' < 4 since a cannot be greater than 9.
'd' has to odd, since 'b' = (d+3)/2
only values left for 'd' are 1 and 3.
Also, 'd' cannot be 3 since that will result 'c' as 3 which
is not allowed (no repitition).
Hence 'd' is 1.

Thus resulting number is 7241.
