Hi,ajay,rajendra & all those who have given cglm 2008
i have answered only 11 questions out of which about 9 is
correct.I also found it most difficult ,the arithmetic paper
of tax.asst.is somehow like cglm this time.
i will get more than 75% in eng,about 110 in GS, 60% in
comp,& more than 135+ in c.skill.
could any one of you tell after obtaining the above marks
if i get about 70-80 in maths whether i wll be called up
for interview or not?? Is there any separate qualifying
marks for maths paper after evaluation of paper-1 i.e
english???
Ajay,in the last year what you think how much you have got
in arithmetic??? & what is the reason behind your non-
selection??? i mean in which paper do you think you have
not done well???

reg..cglm 2008. pls.tell how much do you think you have got
in arithmetic in 2006 & in all the papers as now you have
been selected,if you will share your feelings as a
sucessful candidate, it will help all the aspiring

Is there any separate qualifying marks for arithmetic
paper????????? i..e suppose if i get above 65% in all
others paper & about 30% in maths , will i be considered

According to the estimate of cglm 2006 someone told me that
there are about 4500 vaccancy in cgle 2008.Is the
information correct??

dear rajendra,
All the papers of cglm 2006 was the most easiest,specially,
the gk & arithmetic,whereas in cglm 2008 it was most
toughest comparing to cglm 2006.....& if in 2006 with the
easiest paper if the cut-off for personality test for gen.
category is 270 & final cut-off is 423 then how it could be
350 & 435????????????whereas the no.of vaccancy is more
than in 2006.............

dear ajay,
i think all those who have been selected in cglm 2006
do not want to share their interview experience,they have
no feelings for unemployed persons like us.May be they have
stop visiting this blog or they do not want to spend any
more time for us.
But one thing ajay if you have given your 1st preference as
central excise/CBI/customs inspector,then just after
interview start gym or any kind of physical
excercise ,because in previous years many candidates have
been eliminated in PET after appointment mainly in chest
measurement & expansion of 5 cm.

Pls.mention in which deptt?? & under which ministry you are
posted???If you are already in the pay scale of 8000-
13500,which is a group-A,gazetted & the post of examiner
carries 6500-10500,which is non-gazetted posts.........
then why are you opting for a subordinate services??????

If you carefully go through the arithmetic paper of CGLM
2008,then you will find 15 questions was almost easy i..e
Qno:-1,2,3,4,5,7,8,11,12,13,14,15,16,17, & 20 & many
candidates are expecting more than 150+,whereas for my case
I attempted all the questions,out of which 10 was
correct ,for three questions i..e Qno:-1,7,13,I have
wrongly calculate at the last step & for the other two i..e
9 & 10 it was totally wrong.
I don't know there is any step marking or not,if you have
any information pls.let me know.

cut-off marks for examiner was 494,but according to
you ,you are getting about 490,taking 200/200 in paper III.
May be your cal.is wrong

Dear all,
I think yadav is totally wrong,because the 2nd ARC by v.
moily recommended to reduce the age limit to 25Yrs, for
civil services & other services of central govt,but till
now it has not been accepted by the govt.since, till date
he had not submitted the report.

i think you , sumit & others who have got the job,will
understand after joining,wheather there is any upri kamai
or not?????? in the posts of Insp. of IT,CE etc.
If you really want to earn to deposit in swiss,then find
jobs of sales tax of any state govt or try for
IAS,IPS,IRS,IRTS, otherwise join politic,even there is lot
of income in RLys.in commercial & traffic deptt.

Dear gautam,
could you please explain the work power,etc for the posts
of examiner.In CGLM 2008 i have given it as my 3Rd
preference,since i have no knowledge about the posts except
that it is under customs..................

You are wrong ,you are not going to get any kind of pay
protection,because you are a state govt.employee & no one
in central also get any kind of protection other than
deputation basis.
I am a commercial clerk i E.Rly.,so i know it.

tumne thik hi suna,lekin paise hai from the rank of
asst.commissionner i..e IRS officer.jiske liye tumko UPSC
civil services examination dena parega.lekin bahut risks
hai CBI aur vigilance walo ka.waise inspector grade me kuch
bhi nehi hai,sirf hai to logo ka enquiry aur gali.
spl.in central excise promotion 15 salo me bhi nehi
hota.jaa ke pata kar lo.lekin by UPSc civil services the
scope for promotion is much better & very fast.

Aur,ye sab badd me socho pehele select to ho jao.

I am really shocked by gautam,sumit,babu,raj,etc who are
now talking for extra kamai,...............
we are now young ,energetic & must try to stop all this non-
sense,because it's a cancer which are grasping our system
very severly,& all of us is affected by the system,directly
or indirectly.we all must unite together to fight against it
for a better india.
May now, you have forgot the situation,when you were
unemployed,& was awaiting for the result............
