How is glycogen synthesized?

G6P to G1P to UDP-glucose (added to chain) producing non-
reducing ends, and requires energy (2 ATP), attached to
glycogenin protein by O-link. The first few glucose
molecules are added by glycogenin, then extended by
glycogen synthase (a -1,4 linkages) only.
