By BOD and COD.BOD is meant for measuring only
biodegradable organic waste present in water while both
inorganic and organic pollutant can be measured by COD.

pollutants,more visual obsearvation colour, taste, smell
specially pH,density, transparency and presence of the
organism, some organisms indicating the pollutants, example
cyano bacteria, for petrochemical pollutants.absence of
fishes
