Goodwill means good reputation or good name of business.
Goodwill is intangible asset not a fictitious asset. and we
can not calculate exact value of goodwill. because their are
different methods for goodwill and all methods showing
different answers. Goodwill help us in earning more profits.
their are two types of goodwill 1. self generated goodwill
2.Purchased goodwill.

Ficticious assets are those assets that has no relizable or resale value, since good will has value when realized we can clearly say that its an intangible asset.
Intangible assets are those assets which cant be touched or felt but has value when realized.

yes goodwill is a intangible asset bcoz goodwill means good
reputation of a concern...it can not be exactly
measured..there are amny methods of calculating goodwill
like super profit method,annuity method etc

There are two types of intangible assets 1 which can be sold(copyright,good will etc)2.which cannot be sold ( adv.suspense A/c etc)but fictitious cannot be sold so goodwill can be sold so it is not a fic. asset
