first take the second condition:
ten years ago thier ratio is 1:5,so abhay age is 1 part and father age is 5 part we can otherwise say this x:5x
so ten yerars ago thier age is x-10 and 5x -10,to find their present ages add 10 yrs so x+10 and 5x+10
so abhay present age is x+10 and father's present age is 5x+10
then by first condition
after 6 yrs will be three-seventh of his fathers age
so,
(x+10)+6=3/7(5x+10)+6
[above is present age of abhay + 6 yrs after by first condition like wise fathers age is calculated]
therefore,
x+16=3/7(5x+16)
by solving this we get x=8
then subsitute x value in fathers present age(5x+10)
we get 50 so,abhays fathers age is 50

Answer / divya
let present age of abhay be 'x'
and his father's present age be 'y'
x+3=3\7(y+3)
7x-3y+12=0-----(1)
x-10\y-10=1\5
5x-y-40=0------(2)
solving the above 2 equations....
x=16.5
y=42.5

Answer / vignesh1988i
it's simple ,
the age of the father is 32 and the son is 12.... here no
need of equation just mental calculation is enough.........
here the son after 3 yrs will be 3/7 times of the dad... so
the age of the father MUST BE DIVISIBLE BY 7.. AT THE SAME
TIME NEXT INFO. IS BEFORE 10 yrs ,the ratio is 1:5..
therefore both of the ages must be divisible by 7,5... so
taking 35 as the age of father , SINCE THE FIRST NUMBER
THAT IS BOTH DIVISIBLE BY BOTH 7 & 5 IS 35.... so son's age
will be 15.... then subtract 10 yrs from that, they will be
5:25 , so the ratio will come as 1:5.... therefore the
present age of father and son is (35-3)=32 , (15-3)=12
respectively................
thank u

Answer / neha
let present age of abhay =x
let present age of his father =y
A.T.Q
X+3={3(Y+3)}/7
i.e 7x+21=3y+9
i.e 7x-3y=-12 ----------------------(1)
also acc. to second condition
(x-10)/(y-10)=1/5
i.e 5x-y=40 ---------------------(2)
now, solving (1)&(2),
x=16.5 years and y=42.5 years
