even i hav been selected n m waiting 4 the letter.
ny updates on it ????
also i wld like 2 suggest tht all those in pvt firms kindly
dnt tell ur superiors tht u may leave, coz tht creates a bad
environment 4 u n if unfortunately u r stuck in the same
firm then may b u wil hav a hell of a time.
also i hav been hearing some rumors tht the pay pacakage has
increased. can ny1 confirm this ??

That was really a nice post by ":p" but the thing is the ur
work environment depends on how u create it....i am having
good relationships with my seniors...thats why i informed
them about the fact that i may leave...though they dont
want to lose anybody at this time...they agreed for me and
are also helping me out now in my current assignments......
if u have bad relationships in that case it will really
have negative impacts...but its not always brother....so i
will suggest if ur team is cooperative then only inform
them....else there is no other option to stay till the end
and suddenly tell them the shocking news....:)

That's a good thought vijay....But my situation is
diffrent ..my confirmation was on may as it is defered by 3
months so it will be now at the end of august.I didn't get
any bad feedback in the last 2 months and u said as they
don't want to loose employess right now(as the economy
condition goes good)..so i am expecting they will confirm
me in august. But if that time NIC joining comes
also ...then i will have to take some hard decision ...

Hi Everybody,
Now days I am reading a healthily discussion on this forum
for public vs private job.
I want to say here everybody has different situation , no
doubt now days jobs in corporate is difficult and more
work pressure and job security is also a concern but these
will not be for a long time.
Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys showing good result.
In NIC still we all are in confusion ki whether it is a 5
years job or what else.
The working of Public and private sector is entirely
different. In public everything is time bound and personal
skills rarely matter in public sector. On the other hand in
private you can raise as u can entirely depend on your
capability.
I have exp of both that’s why I know all this.
So I would suggest take decision according to your dreams,
ur choice and ur capability.
Because everything is not fixed here, whether today is
recession but it will not going permanent , see the picture
before recession so nothing is permanent here.

Hi guyz,
i 2nd Pranjal , every case is different. so guys take the
advice of others but put ur mind into the situation coz the
reasons differ 4m indivisual 2 indivisual.
As far as the 5 year term goes, the fact the NIC is giving a
break up of the salary means tht v wil b on NIC's payscale n
wnt b there as contractual people, coz ppl on contractual
jobs in NIC r paid a lum sum packages.(hope sum1 verifies this)

No, pay scales are given for contractual jobs in govt. also
like Project Scientist on contract. But if this is a
contract, they would have mentioned it very clearly in the
advt. that it is temporary and contractual. But it was
written "THESE POSTS ARE FOR THE
DURATION OF FIVE YEARS. AFTER COMPLETION OF FIVE
YEARS, THE PERSONNEL POSTED AGAINST THESE POSTS ARE LIKELY
TO BE CONTINUED IN NIC". If anyone knows more detail about
this please tell..

This is wrong...A Contractual person can't be on Pay-
Roll....he always gets a lum sum amount...Yes we wil be on
NIC pay scale ..but not sure What happen after 5
years ...as i talked with some Technical directors of nIC
regarding this...they said it very clearly ...if rescession
continues till date they can take back our jobs ..but this
chance is 30 % ......Government work never stops ...they
always needs a data center guy ........So there will be
less probability of loosing job after five years.....So
guys ...can't think like that ....chalo abb aaram ki
zindigi ho gayi govt job milne ke baad ....:)

well vijay ...you did a good permutation and
Combination....and i am also aggree with you ....as i said
earlier if u want to do best in the IT industry , you will
have to take risk at any point of time ....if you let down
yourself in NIC also ..NIC also fires u(obviously
atteration rate is low ).......I am sure decision to join
NIC will play a vital role in one's career.This post is for
Data center and if u get an exposure of Data Center for 5
years in NIC ...your minimum package would be 15-20 lakhs
after 5 years in current industry ........This Information
i gathered and that's why looking forward......Please let
me know your view on this ..........
