I also faced this problem and got to know that for QTP to
identify the objects easily first QTP and then the
application should be opened.

QTP object spy doesn't identify the objects in MOzilla and fire fox . QTP supports only Internet explorer objects. lets try it guys.

Not Only ObjectSpy if u try to add the object also Qtp will
not recoganise it Because QTP need Add-ins to identify the
Webapplication and this add-in will get intiated when qtp
is Opened by selecting the appropriate add-in.once qtp
window is opened u can open a browser and spy it or add-it
