hi friends...

yeah these ranks should be confirmed but i don't think that
they have interviews in order of ranks...but it would be
like on different dates in different states..coz my friend
has interview on the same day.. i m from Punjab n have my
interview on 22nd Oct...could yall please share your
location n interview date to confirm that...

Hii Pari,

The definition of a bank varies from country to country.

Under English common law, a banker is defined as a person
who carries on the business of banking, which is specified
as:[3]

conducting current accounts for his customers
paying cheques drawn on him, and
collecting cheques for his customers.
In most English common law jurisdictions there is a Bills
of Exchange Act that codifies the law in relation to
negotiable instruments, including cheques, and this Act
contains a statutory definition of the term banker: banker
includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not,
who carry on the business of banking' (Section 2,
Interpretation). Although this definition seems circular,
it is actually functional, because it ensures that the
legal basis for bank transactions such as cheques do not
depend on how the bank is organised or regulated.

The business of banking is in many English common law
countries not defined by statute but by common law, the
definition above. In other English common law jurisdictions
there are statutory definitions of the business of banking
or banking business. When looking at these definitions it
is important to keep in mind that they are defining the
business of banking for the purposes of the legislation,
and not necessarily in general. In particular, most of the
definitions are from legislation that has the purposes of
entry regulating and supervising banks rather than
regulating the actual business of banking. However, in many
cases the statutory definition closely mirrors the common
law one. Examples of statutory definitions:

"banking business" means the business of receiving money on
current or deposit account, paying and collecting cheques
drawn by or paid in by customers, the making of advances to
customers, and includes such other business as the
Authority may prescribe for the purposes of this Act;
(Banking Act (Singapore), Section 2, Interpretation).
"banking business" means the business of either or both of
the following:
receiving from the general public money on current,
deposit, savings or other similar account repayable on
demand or within less than [3 months] ... or with a period
of call or notice of less than that period;
paying or collecting cheques drawn by or paid in by
customers[4]

Please can anyone answer the following question:
Why SBI when other private banks are offering much better
packages to its employees?
answers are many in my minds but not impressive one.
I thought to reply as follows
That though many private banks have emerged but people still
place trusts on govt. banks.for eg.though many pvt sector in
mobile service provider like airtel,reliance has come but
still BSNL is at the top
second point could be job security,but i doubt this as it
may raise few ques,
so pls clarify my doubts,give the best ans for above ques.

I know a person who graduated with commerce was asked a
question in his interview "how will u find the costing for
the alarm of the watch" in his sbi clerk interview.
it somewhere means we should know some concepts. does'nt
matter that the minimum qualification is 12th but questions
would be asked on our qualification.

friends, this is suresh from Vizag, my interwiew date is
on 23 rd of this month, after going through the blogs i got
an impression that u peole are getting so tensed and more
concious. just feel free while going to and interview, if u
study too hard then u could not answer the same in the
interview due to over stress and over content in ur brain,
so just keep a touch all the aspects,and be confident and
carry those confidence through out the interview, its only
1:3 competetion, so its not a big issue to cross over, give
ur 100% and leave the rest to the interviewer to select u.

Dear Pari and Tarun,
Bank is also defined as an organisation which mobilises the
idle savings of the people and advances it to others for
promoting economic activities.Or we can say bank is an
organisation whose principle operations are concerned with
the accumulation of the temporarily idle money to the
general public for the purpose of advancing it to others
for expenditure.


Bank is different from other financial institution as it
not only exchanges money but also creates credit by the use
of credit instrument.Non banking financial institute
mobilises the savings and advances loans.


I THINK NOW IT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTION OF BANKS.

hI ALL THIS IS aTUL FROM kASHIPUR uTTARKHAND AGAIN, and I am frustrated by SBI's laziness. When will the result for SBI CLERK 2009 INTERVIEW be declared? CRPD people are telling that result will be declared by September 1st week hope it will come before that but no indication regarding this from SBI officially. I just wanted to suggest something to all SBI CLERK ASPIRANTS let us all start an EMAIL MOVEMENT by writing more and more mails to crpd@sbi.co.in on daily basis regarding to declaration of result result mentioning that they should at least declare the tentative dates published on sbi.co.in please do it u all there is no benefit of sitting idle and waiting for result lets do something itni mail karo ka vo bhi feel kare k how desperate we are about the result? Whats u r say?
