Conformed Dimension,Degenarated Dim,Junk dim those all are
concepts in DWH. But in Cognos we have some more dim like
Regular dims,Measure dim
Regular Dim Mainly it is used for drill up and drill down
purpose. It contains Hierarchial structure. It have three
propertise having Business key,member Caption,member
description.

Types of dimensions:
1.Conformed dimension:A dimension which can be shared by
multiple fact table is known as conformed dimension
2.Junk dimension:A junk dimension is a collection of random
transactional codes, flags and/or text attributes that are
unrelated to any particular dimension.
simply to say a randomly used dimension is junk dimension
3.Degenerated dimension: It is a dimension which has only a
single attribute. This dimension is typically represented as
a single field in fact table. These dimensions are used when
fact tables represent transactional data.

there are 3 types
1. junk dimension:: junk dimension is nothing but unwanted data
ex: spam
2. conformed dimension:: a dimension which can reuse access the multiple facts table
3. degenerated dimension:: at the time of any
transaction it will give temporarily id
