What is the scope of career in PHP/Mysql..

Hi, After so many month to searching job i got job as php
developer. so I was not think any more on that time and i
accept this job. but after 2-3 month my friends tell me that
future in php is not good it's better to switch in java. now
i haven't any idea what to do so please suggest me to what
to do, continua in php or switch to java.

If your are planning to build your career in Web technology

Actualy It is not a fact that Php is good or bad,But It is
not as strong as JAVA or .NET.One of my frnd works in a
company in php ,he gets only 2500/ month ,No mnc works on
php.And any grad can enter in php no eng degree is required.

Well PHP is all about "PICHDE HUE PROGRAMMERS"... hahaha

php is one of the oldest language I believe, and there are already a lots of programmers in the market already available for PHP so its tough decision to go in that career which every one knows...
So keeping knowledge of every programming knowledge is a part of software development as, might be you got a PHP project in very next future, So learning is all , learn well and earn Well.

If you want to go for a long run, then choose Microsoft Technologies like .net, definitely your career jumps at very beginning. When I started my career in .net I got a package of 1.2 laks per annumm. And now after 2 years I am in a reputed Web Development Company with 5.5 laks per annumm.
It looks like ASP.net is hard to learn but my dear, this is why there are less number of programmers and company pays us more than PHP developers.
