You can ping servers on the subnet your workstation is on,
but not other subnets. What is wrong?

U need to make the route entry for other subnets in
server's routing table

Obviously you can ping inside your subnet because you are
on the same LAN,but if you want to ping the host which is
out of your Subnet you should MAP the Subnet range in
Routing table.

The question it self stating that if we will ping from other
subnet.
How can a packet will route to other subnet.
Packet doesnt know other than the same subnetwork unless
until its routed and Nated further.
So obviously its unable to communicate to other subnet.

After u change the ip addres u have to add the requied file
ie /etc/host , /etc/netmaks, /etc/defaultrouter
and if u are in solaris 10 /etc/inet/ipnodes have to modify
and IMPORTANT THAT U HAVE BRING IN VLAN then only from out
side u can ping and connect
