What is the purpose of cables being shielded and having twisted pairs?
Answer / Sandeep Bisht
Shielding helps to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) in network cables. Twisted pair cables, where two conductors are twisted around each other for every length of cable, also help to further reduce EMI and RFI by cancelling out the magnetic fields that are generated when current flows through the wires.
