Security in SQL Azure is ensured through multiple layers. At the infrastructure level, data at rest and data in transit are encrypted using AES 256-bit encryption. Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) provides authentication and authorization services. Database firewalls restrict access to the database based on IP address rules. Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) can be enabled for additional data protection. Row-level security, dynamic data masking, and Always Encrypted are some other security features.
