Gulf stream:-It is the most important current of the Atlantic Ocean and takes its birth in the gulf on Mexico. In this gulf there is a great accumulation of water because here the water of the North Equatorial current meets with the discharge of the big rivers, Mississippi and Missouri. At about 4ON. latitude it divides into two parts. One parts moves northward and passing round the British moves flows towards the Arctic Ocean. The other part moves eastward towards Spain. The surface temperature of this stream is about it F. It modifies the temperature of the cold regions, prevents the freezing of water and warms the wind over the containments to yield
