two states of device availability and explain them?..

Answer / Suresh Prasad

The two states of device availability in AIX are Online (O) and Offline (o). Online devices are available for use by the system, while Offline devices are not. You can bring a device online using 'chdev -a on <device>' and offline with 'chdev -a off <device>'.
