TCP/IP is an abbreviation for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. These protocols are what computers use to talk, or communicate with hosts on the internet. In other words, TCP/IP is the basic language of the internet. These protocols are based on preset rules, telling the computer how information should be exchanged.
