if he covers 27km in 9hrs means his speed is 3kmphr.for
return journey his speed is given as 5kmphr.so average is
(2xy/(x+y))i.e.2(3)(5)/(3+5)=3.75kmphr

27 kms in 9 hrs means 3kms/ hrs then 5kms/hrs the average speed is 3+5=8/2=4 kms/hrs
