X is 3 years younger to Y. X's father is a businessman who invested 10000/- at 8% rate of int..

Answer / hardikvd

Ans is -2 and 1.
bcos: after 5 years, ratio of ages is 1:2
so
2(X+5) = (Y+5)
replace x with (y-3) as X is 3 years younger than Y.
by solving v get Y=1
and X=Y-3 ==> X=-2.

I know that it is not possible for ages. I tried a lot for another solution. bt I can't find.
If you have any better solution, please let me know.

Answer / moses

let de ages be x and y so x's y-3 and y's age be y,
after 5 years ratio is 1:2, so y+2: y+5
y+2=2(y+5)
y=8
another age is y-3 = 5
sum of the age is 13
