Expense are MONIES expended on items on which no value
remains eg expenses on wages and salaries, etc while
expenditures are monies used for items of which some values
remains eg purchase of assets especiaaly.

EXPENSE is a single item cost....& EXPENDITURE is the sum
of all expense in an unit time.

an expenditure is a payment for a benefit
received.expenditure is incurred to acquired assets and
amount spent to acquire those assets.
examples:-
cost of plant and machinery
depreciation on plant and machinery
rent
insurance, etc.
on the other hand expense is the amount spent in order to
produce and sell the good and services which produce the
revenue.
examples:-
salaries
wages, etc.

Expences are generally classified into two categaries
1:Capital , 2: Revenue.
Expences of revenue nature are generally of small amounts
and are charged to the P/L A/C.Whereas the Capital
Expenditure are huge in amounts and are usually
ammortizedand are shown in the B/s.
