Connection-oriented protocols in the TCP/IP suite are
implemented in the:

A. transport layer.

B. application layer.

C. physical layer.

D. network layer.

Answer Posted / guest

Answer: A

Connection-oriented protocols provide reliability of the
service provided to the higher layer. It is the
responsibility of such protocols in the transport layer to
enhance the quality of service provided by the network
layer. The application layer is concerned with applications
that are closer to the user. Reliable transport of packets
by connection-oriented protocols is transparent to this
layer. The physical layer transmits only raw bits of data.
The network layer routes packets based on information
provided by the transport layer protocol.
