i=v/(r+jx);x=2*3.14*f*L;
In case of ac it has 50hz frequency .so both the reactance
x and r resistance is available.In case of Dc it does not
have frequency .so reactance is zero and resistance in the
circuit is very small.
i=v/(r+0);so DC power taking more initial current .it may
burnt out the transformer windings.

why is the power generator connected as star earthed or star earthed through reactance and what its features ?
how does the terminal voltage of transmission lines increase when a capacitor is connected???? This happens not only in transmission lines but also in all circuits. How??? When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? Practically What sequence of events happen during increase in voltage???
