What happens when in background when we shutdown SAP (Both
central & Database) & where is the log stored. Also when we
apply the Patches, what exactly is running in background..
Kindly help me with this answer..

As per the previous Consultant RDDIDMP is a cts deamon.
when ever the sap sstem is shutdown in the mean we can get
the information abt the sap system in event viewer too and
in the home directory of the Unix machine
Applying Patches is completely a different process . its an
Correction for the bundle of errors reported to SAP.
here we system will generate teh Request no for teh further
transport of request in the other system
kindly download and uncar the files and approve it and
apply that in to teh systems
so here required is the import dispatcher.(which is
scheduled in the background job in ddic client 000)
Kindly suggest if anything is wrong.plz
