They both refer to signs of tetany in hypocalcemia .
chvostek's sign also called weiss sign -is an abnormal
reaction to the stimulation of the facial nerve .
Trousseau's sign is less sensitive than chvostek's
sign - it presents a carpopedal spasm occuring after 5 min
of inflation of sphygmomanometer cuff above cystolic blood
pressure
