What is meant by transformer, why it should be used, with
out that equipment what happens if we transformed the
supply?
Answer Posted / panks
Transformer is that stactic device which transfers power
from one ckt. to other w/o changing frequency.
Transformer is used for stepping up & down the voltage
levels or as per requirments whenever needed.
Voltage level should be lower for Consumers like
Industries, Domestic, etc as compared to Generating
stations, Substations, switchyards hence w/o Trafo, voltage
level can't be changed like stepping up or down, hence to
get desired voltage level, we have to use transformers.
