Given:
y/x = 1/3
x+2y = 10
Solution:
if y/x = 1/3, then
x = 3y
therefore, 3y + 2y = 10
so, y = 10/5 = 2
substitute y = 2 in x + 2y = 10
therefore, x + 4 = 10
it gives the answer x = 6
x = 6.
