What is meant by transformer, why it should be used, with
out that equipment what happens if we transformed the
supply?
Answer Posted / ram_svepl
TRANSFORMER IS A STATIC DEVICE WHICH TRNSFORMS THE POWER
FROM ONE CIRCUIT TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT BY CHANGING THE VOLTAGE
NOT BY CHANGING THE POWER AND FREQUENCY.
TRANSFORMERS ARE USED TO TO GET THE DESIRED VOLTAGE LEVEL.
IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER THE POWER WITHOUT
TRANSFORMER.BECAUSE ELECTRICITY CAN'T BE SENT AT 440/415V
FROM GENERATING STATION TO CONSUMER'S PREMISES.WE SHOULD
TRANSMIT AT HIGH VOLTAGE(IN KV).OTHERWISE POWER CAN'T BE
RECEIVED.
