How is the neural tube formed? What is the embryonic origin of the nervous system in vertebrates?
Answer Posted / Chandra Has Mahehswari
The neural tube forms during embryonic development as a result of the closure of the neural plate, a thickened ridge along the dorsal side of the embryo. The neural tube gives rise to the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord in vertebrates.
