What happens if you keep split brain syndrome in rac unresolved? How it can be resolved?
Answer Posted / Shree Krishna
"Split brain syndrome in a RAC occurs when two or more nodes believe they are the only functioning nodes and continue to operate independently, potentially leading to data corruption. If left unresolved, this can result in inconsistent data and possible data loss.nnTo resolve split brain syndrome, Oracle provides several mechanisms including:nn1. Automatic Database Failover (ADF): This feature automatically switches the voting rights from the failed node to another surviving node.n2. Voting Disks: These disks are used to maintain a quorum and prevent a split brain situation. If a node is unable to communicate with other nodes, it will stop voting, preventing it from becoming the sole functioning node."
