To identify if the shared_pool_size parameter needs adjustment, you can check the SGA_TARGET and DB_CACHE_SIZE parameters. If the shared_pool_size is using a large portion of the total SGA (System Global Area), or if there are high numbers of hard parses, it may be necessary to increase the shared_pool_size.
